World Population Day | What is the population of India?

Every year on the 11th of July World Population
Day is celebrated. 1987 was the first year when the day was recognized and
celebrated all over the world. The primary objective of the celebration of
world population day is to address the concern of a rapidly growing population.
The population is increasing by leaps and bounds, it is a burning issue that
requires urgent remedy. India, China, USA, Indonesia, etc. are the top
countries that have the largest population count. The growing population puts
additional strain on the earth and environment.
Globally 401,300 babies are born every day,
every hour 16,720, 278 every minute, and 5 babies every second. In 1,800 the
total population of the world was 1 billion and in the next 33 years i.e.,4
billion in 1960. 14 years 1974, 4 billion. Next 13 years 1987 July 11th World
Population reached 5 billion.6 billion in just 12 years (1999) and 7 billion to
8 billion by November 2022. At present the world population is about 8.04
billion. The world population by 2030 is about 8.5 billion 9.7 billion by 2050,
and 10.4 billion by 2100.
What is the population of India?
India’s population at the beginning of the 20th
century was only 23.6 crores (1901) and 36 crores in 1951. According to the
2011 census, 121 crores in India. According to a recent report by the World
Organization, the country’s population of 142.86 crore has overtaken China with
a population of 142.57 crore. India’s population has increased by 100 crores
since 1950. If the population growth rate is similar, by 2050, the total
population of the country will increase to 166.80 crores. A world organization
report estimates that China will drop to 131.70 crore.
There is no doubt that we will become world champions if we curb the
rising population and convert the population into human resources.
